What’s the best way to store zucchini?

Whole Zucchini is best stored in the refrigerator in a brown paper bag. A paper bag left open will absorb extra moisture, and extend the life of the zucchini up to 2 weeks.

Should I wash zucchini before storing?

No. Moisture is the enemy when it comes to soft squash, zucchini, yellow squash (also known as crookneck), and patty pan. Avoid washing before storing, but definitely wash before use.

Can zucchini be cut or prepped ahead of time

Zucchini can be cut, shredded or sliced up to 3 days before using. Store in an airtight container or plastic bag. Add a piece of paper towel to absorb any moisture.

Can you freeze uncooked zucchini?

Yes! Zucchini sliced, diced, or grated can be frozen. For best results, freeze on a baking sheet and then transfer to a Freezer bag. This will ensure that all the pieces are easy to separate. Another great tip is to freeze the zucchini in 1 cup portions, so it’s to defrost and easier for use in recipes.
