No Bake Cereal Bars

Life is busy, for everyone, and keeping yourself and your family fed can be a challenge.  I’m not a morning person, and neither is my family, so getting a good breakfast into my kids isn’t always easy.  These No Bake Cereal Bars are one of the items I meal prep and use to get some protein into them before they start their day.

More often than not, it’s a grab and go item that is most popular with my boys, and these No Bake Cereal Bars are definitely that!   Make up a batch and wrap individually in parchment paper or sandwich wrappers.

If you are looking for something more environmentally friendly, I highly recommend these SMASHER silicon snack bags.   Reusable and easy to wash, they are worth the investment as long as they get returned.  If you’re bunch is forgetful, this might not be your best choice. Nut Butter and cereal, with a hint of maple syrup create No Bake Cereal Bars in a hurry

Why make Homemade Cereal Bars?

  • Adaptable to your families taste
  • Uses commonly found ingredients
  • Budget friendly
  • Homemade

For all these reasons, I like to make my own Cereal Bars!   The flavour combinations are quite endless, depending on what cereal you choose to use.   Then there are the add-ins, and of course many Nut Butter options.

Nut Butter options:

  • Almond Butter
  • Cashew Butter
  • WOW Butter – great for nut free facilities
  • Hazelnut Butter
  • Pecan Butter

Many of these butters are now available in grocery stores in the health or organic aisles if you aren’t seeing them near the peanut butter.  Bulk Food stores and health food stores also offer many options and offer the opportunity to purchase smaller amounts so you can test which flavors your families prefers before you invest in a large quantity.

How do I make No Bake Cereal Bars?

Honestly, it’s super simple!  If you’ve never made them before and try this recipe, you’ll be hooked.   I use a flake style cereal with some crunchy granola clusters or an assortment of bottom of the box cereals.   Great on the budget!
