Homemade Taco Seasoning
Okay, I admit it, I’m fussy about using packaged seasonings, they often lack flavour and have way too much salt. I much prefer to take a few minutes and make Taco Seasoning; homemade from scratch. I also like the flexibility of being able to adjust the proportion of spices to our families taste. For example I love ground cumin, so my personal preference is to make a big batch of this season mixture and have it on hand for all my recipes.
Making Taco Seasoning; Homemade from scratch
It’s super easy to make seasoning mixes from scratch, and this Taco Seasoning is no exception. If you’re family likes Mexican and Tex Mex like we do, I recommend doubling the recipe and having it on hand for easy meal prepping. For me, any part of cooking that is prepaheadable is a bonus. Having a stock of my most used Seasoning Mixes is something I rely on to make Meal prepping faster so I generally make big batches, and store them. Mason jars with lids are my personal choice, but you can use smaller spice jars if space is limited.
